Our Morgan gelding Scout...the one who
thankfully started me on my journey into
natural trimming. Though the pic is hazey since it was taken at dusk, it's one of
my favorites.

Natural trimming has gained more and
more believers from vets, top trainers and clinicians, farriers, horse owners world wide.
Barefoot horses are competing in every event you can think of and the number is growing.
Horses that are lucky enough to be given the physiologically correct hooves they need and
deserve will have a long lifetime of soundness to show for it.
Why do horse owners need to learn more about their horses hooves? Isn't that what your farrier
is for? Consider that a leading cause of death in horses is laminitis, second only to
colic...and lameness is the leading health issue equine vets deal with...and it is estimated
close to 90% of lameness is hoof related...it stands to reason, whether you shoe or not, the
more you learn about the equine hoof the better off your horse will be!
My Articles & Links page is a good place to start learning more! The more educated you are
on this subject the more successful and happy your horse (and you!) will be!

Kathleen Camp from
www.thesoulofahorse.com for a Natural Hoof Care
TeleConference on Saturday, May 1st,
2010. This will be a conference not on the mechanics of trimming, but rather for those new to
or curious about natural hoof care and would like to learn more and have their questions
answered. For more info and to sign up please visit http://www.thesoulofahorse.com/Workshop1Descript.htm
Liberated Horsemanship will be having an Natural
Hoof Care extensive 6-day clinic,
including a presentation by respected clinician/trainer John Lyons. April 16-21st,
2010. For more information and a schedule http://www.liberatedhorsemanship.com/\
I am hoping to make it back down to San Miguel de
Allende, Mexico this summer and if
so will be giving a clinic and will also be available to trim horses. My goal is to teach as
much as I can during the time I'm down there to help those providing hoof care there a better
understanding of the hoof, trimming and how to keep the horses comfortable and sound barefoot.
To spare people from my poor Tex-Mex Spanglish, interpreters will be available for those that
speak Spanish, so no worries! :) Anyone down Mexico way that's interested in learning more
please have them contact me!

Trimming Max (who is over 30 and still has way more energy
than I do!) in San Miguel de Allende...
easily my favorite trip that Natural trimming has taken me on...not just the scenery,
but the people
make it a truly wonderful place! Thank you Suzi and Gene!
Many thanks to Aleksey and Tonya from St
Petersburg, Russia. I hope your trip here
to learn about Natural Hoof Care was a good one. It was fun seeing Texas through
your eyes for the week and my clients enjoyed your visit as well. I was very impressed by you
both...your knowledge of natural horsemanship is excellent and it is great to know people like
you are in Russia championing the cause for horses. Hope you got enough "Texas
Hospitality" to take back and share with everyone. "Y'all come back now,
y'here?" ;)

For those interested in learning more for their own
horses or becoming a professional trimmer, Liberated Horsemanship offers a great 6 day
introduction to Natural Hoof Care clinic (the next one will be April 16-21, 2010). Very well
rounded clinic that will give you a ton of information. Visit www.liberatedhorsemanship.com and click on
"Gateway to NHC Clinics".

"All too little attention has
been paid to the "natural" hoof.
Thats the way he was made and thats the way he should go."
